Cookies and similar technologies

When you sign in we set session cookies that keep you signed in and let the server tell your requests from someone else's. They are strictly necessary: without them there is no account, no dashboard and no way to protect your data. They are cleared when you sign out, and they expire on their own.

Bot detection runs on submissions and on the research conversation, so an automated client cannot spend a workspace's balance or flood the platform. It may read or store information on your device for that purpose. This is necessary for security and fraud prevention and does not require your consent.

Choosing light or dark saves that choice in your browser's local storage, on your device. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

We measure aggregate page views and page-load performance. The tools we use are cookieless: they set no tracking cookie, use no cross-site identifier, and give us counts rather than individuals. We use the result to see which pages are read and which are slow, and for nothing else.

No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No social media pixels. No selling or sharing of anything from your browser. Reading a published report sets nothing at all beyond what security requires.

Under UK law consent is needed to store or read information on your device unless it is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. Everything above is either strictly necessary, needed for security, stored by your own browser at your instruction, or collected without touching your device at all. A banner asking you to consent to nothing would be theatre.

Your browser can block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Reading anything published on deeperer.com works either way. Blocking the sign-in cookies will stop you from signing in, because that is what they are for.
